This is an mp3 / mp4 player that music lovers acknowledge the most in the modern time. US-based Apple, one among the largest producers of computers, notebooks and computer hardware and software, introduced iPod in 2001 with a single model for the international music market. Apple kept on introducing new iPods for each generation. The latest one is the iPod 5G. Apple also came up with two different variants: the iPod Shuffle (without digital display), the iPod Nano (the smaller version of iPod). Recently, Apple came up with the new-generation of iPod, the iPhone that integrates the conventional MP3 and video player with an internet ready mobile phone.
This article compares each iPod by its special features. One of the most popular model is the iPod 5G that comes with 30 or 80 GB storage capacity. It is not just an mp3 / mp4 player, you can store, view and share complete music videos, movies, podcasts, play games, share photos, playback music and videos, connect to a video output device, and much more. It can play your favorite music for up to 20 hours as this iPod boasts of higher battery life.
The iPod Nano has many of the same features as the full-size iPod, but with much lesser storage capacity. It comes in 2 GB, 4 GB and 8 GB models. It has up to 24 hours of battery life and is comparatively lighter and smaller. It also suffers from some limitations; the iPod Nano doesn't support voice recording and media storage via third-party peripherals. iPod Nano is a great mp3 player for people who would just like to listen to audio files.Apple's most-pocket friendly iPod is iPod Shuffle. It offers a host of advantages: it's affordable for everyone; its sound quality is as good as that of any other iPod; it has flash memory rather than a hard drive; and it's really portable. However, the disadvantage is that it doesn't include a screen for steering up to specific songs. It has a limited storage capacity, 512 MB to maximum 1 GB. So it's good for those who want to be in fashion, yet can compromise on memory space. But the size of this mp3 player is so small that you can easily clip it to your clothes.
With digital music being in-vogue, many portable jukeboxes hit the market, since Apple kick-started the music revolution of our time. Other portable MP3 and MP4 players, besides iPod, are available in the entertainment world of mp3 / mp4 players. There are many Chinese, Korean and Japanese brands manufacturing low cost players in bulk. These are much cheaper, but have their own set of advantages and disadvantages. The fact remains that iPods are the most popular among all, and hold the biggest share of this market. There are enough iPod users in the market and a lot of new things are getting developed around iPods.
Some people just can't do without their iPods, from jogging time to bed time. It sticks to their ears. Obviously, the battery drains out of the device. The latest buzz is that Andrew Schneider, a student from New York University, is exploring a solar-powered bikini that can charge iPods. Yes, it is true! The bikini will soak up the sun rays thru photovoltaic film strips. That means, while the iPod user is getting a sun tan, his mp3 / mp4 player is also getting a charge of 6.5 volts of solar power.
iPod has become a very desired mp3 / mp4 player around the world. iPod player just seems to be ahead of its competitors. Not just by delivering good quality products, but also in providing new solutions for eager electronic consumers. Let’s just wait what will be next in the iPod revolution.

A device that is designed to greatly reduce the amount of data required to represent the audio recording, by retaining the sound from the original uncompressed state. This makes the sound clearly audible to the listener.
The mp3 players have changed the evolution of music. To seriously download free mp3 song you got to use peer to peer connection software to search and download for free. Of course anyone can also make a search using the popular search engine to look for free downloading of mp3 song website but chances are very tiny if you are ever going to rely on search engine findings. Whatever the search engine throwing at you are most likely be mp3 song website that requires you to subscribe on a monthly, annually or lifetime membership before anyone can download any free mp3 song. Take it from me, I had tried using search engine to look for free mp3 download website but I had wasted my time spent upon the tweak hours of each morning. I hope whoever is reading thiscan save the trouble of going through it.
After hours of searching for free mp3 download websites, I found this peer to peer software from Kazaa and you should be able to find their peer to peer software free for download. Kazaa latest software is v3.2.5 and it is available for anyone to download from their websites as mention above.
Kazaa is a peer to peer software and it comes with the following features;
* Compare to earlier software version, you can now 'Search More' up to 3,000 results per search. Each 'Search More' displays up to an additional 200 search results.
* Use a Search Agent to search for a file and it will perform repeated searches every 30 minutes over a 24 hour period.

* Or alternatively you can use Kazaa to search the web.
These feature may not sound very interesting to a new user of peer to peer software but it sure does provide lots of advantage when it comes to download of free mp3 songs because it does not have to consume much of your time and you set it to download your favorite or chosen mp3 songs while you are asleep or doing something else.
The main advantage of peer to peer software is that anyone can perform faster download simultaneously from multiple sources. Peer to peer software like Kazaa are also capable of searching and downloading other files like video, software, movie and more. To use any of these features, it does not require anyone to pay for any dime as these are part of the peer to peer software. If you are not comfortable with Kazaa, you can use the search engine to search and download for other peer to peer software. So enjoy your download even if you are using other peer to peer software instead of Kazaa. As long as you can find other peer to peer software.

I’d imagine it’s pretty likely that you have heard plenty about the Apple iPod in the media. If you’ve got kids then they probably wanted one for Christmas and if you work in marketing or the music business then you have probably already had an iPod for years. Since its release in 2001 the Apple iPod has become synonymous with the term Mp3 player. Apple pretty much created the market for Mp3 players and they also totally dominate it.
Why has the iPod been such a huge success?
Apple cleverly spotted the rise of digital music and the lack of a suitable piece of hardware. For this reason they developed a hard drive based MP3 player and released this in late 2001. As with their recent computer models Apple did something very clever in the way they marketed and designed their product. Right from the start the iPod was given a sleek and sexy look and was marketed at young, style continuos, music enthusiasts. Apple created a fantastic brand with the all white look, with the white earphones being featured prominently in adverts. The white iPod earphones have actually become so recognisable that they have actually been blamed for increased numbers of street robberies.
Even the original iPod could store a fairly significant amount of music as it used a 5GB hard drive. It was a success from the start, but the fact that it was only Mac compatible held back sales slightly, although Apple did actually see an increase in sales of Apple Macs due to people wanting to be able to use the iPods.
The real explosion for the iPod when they released the 3rd generation iPod in 2003 that came bundled with Apple’s own iTunes software that was compatible on both Macs and Windows PCs. This has opened up a new market as they could now tap into the Windows users. Apple now has a huge 90% market share of the hard drive based Mp3 player market, and 70% share of the MP3 player market as a whole. Very impressive I’m sure you will agree.
Apple has managed to keep their grip on the mp3 player market by releasing several different versions of the iPod. The main iPod is now in its 5th generation and although the design is largely similar to the original, it has been made more compact and available with much large storage capacities. The latest models can display colour photos and movies.
iPod mini- Apple’s first iPod spin off was the iPod mini. This mp3 player was fairly similar to the original although smaller in size. It was the first iPod to be available in different colours and was designed to target a slightly different market.
iPod nano - Apple decided to discontinue the mini in 2005, to replace it with the ultra small iPod nano. These are 62% smaller than the mini players and feature coloured screens. Apple has come under some criticism though for the screens on the nano as many users have complained that they damage too easily.
iPod shuffle – This is another ultra small iPod and was the first flash drive based iPod. They only have a limited capacity of 512MB or 1GB and do not have a display screen. Users can either listen to the songs on the player in a random order or set a playlist in iTunes.
The dominance of the iPod in the mp3 player market can be seen in other industries. Cars are now being designed with docking ports to make integrating iPods to the in car system easier. Clothes manufacturers are making clothes with special pockets to hold iPods. All manner of other iPod accessories are being created by various electronics companies.
You’d be forgiven for thinking the iPod was the only mp3 player available, well it isn’t. There are many other players out there, that some will tell you are actually a lot better than the iPods, just maybe not as fashionable.

Downloading music off the internet can be a tedious and usually boring task. This article will show you how to find online music faster and more precisely then ever before. There are a few different ways of obtaining music over the net, however each one has its own set of pro’s and con’s. 1) The first way is to download music off a basic web server or website. Not only is this highly illegal, but it puts your computer at risk to any number of ActiveX exploits, porn pop-ups, and forced installs.
This of course is necessary to insure that the webmaster of the illegal site gains a profit, off the expense of his surfers. 2) The second highly popular way to download music is through a peer-to-peer network such as Kazaa, IMesh, Limewire etc. Nothing is ever free!
These programs are all ad-supported and include spy ware and frequent pop-ups that essentially infect your computer. They hijack your start page, search page etc, and are designed to be extremely difficult to remove. 3) Recently pay-per download sites have emerged such as Napster and the famous Apple Itunes. These sites unfortunately charge upwards of $1 a song which quickly adds up to a large price for an album. There are alternatives to the high profile sites listed above that offer music at a much reduced price.
A web review site recently launched has ranked these programs on a scale of 1 to 5 and has review article for each site. A free music and mp3 review site providing unbiased comparison information of the Top-Rated Music/MP3 download sites. This is great information before you make your decision on whether or not to purchase a subsciption for downloading music on the net. So you want an MP3 player, but don’t know which one to pick up. Well, it really isn’t that difficult to choose an MP3 player. All you have to do is decide what kind a device you want and the rest will fall into place.
Here are a few tips to help you decide which player you want to go for:
1. Usage: If you want too use your MP3 player while jogging, working out, etc., you might want go for a light-weight device such as a flash-memory player. A hard-drive player is not recommended for such usage as they might skip while you are running. On the other hand, if you listen to a lot of music and need big storage space, you should consider buying a hard-drive MP3 player.
2. Try and Buy: Trying out any particular device is critical if you want to buy the right MP3 player for yourself. In order to ascertain how well the functions of a particular device work, you should give all the features a run through. You must ensure that the on-screen display allows you to jump a specific song. You can also carry a pair of headphones with you to check the quality of sound. Another feature to watch for is the user interface. If the player you are looking at has an interface that is confusing to understand and use, keep on looking till you find the right device.
3. Storage Capacity and File Format: When shopping around for an MP3 player, whether it is flash or hard-drive memory, try to buy the model with the largest storage space within your budget. This is because, even though less space may suffice for now, you might need the extra space later on. Another thing you might want to make note of is the music file formats you want to play on your MP3 device. Some players support AAC, WMA or Ogg Vorbis files. You can buy such a player if you prefer such formats.
4. Battery options: Some flash MP3 players run on replaceable batteries, but for most hard drive devices, built-in rechargeable batteries do duty. Although built-in batteries run for a longer time, they are hard to remove and if you do not have a power outlet nearby when they run low on charge, you won’t be able to continue listening to music.
5. FM Tuner: If your player has a built-in FM tuner, it can be a pleasant change from listening to recorded tunes all the time. Most flash players have this function.
6. Carrying Case: When you buy an MP3 player, you will also get a carrying case for it. Although you might want to get a custom-fitted case if your device is fragile. This is necessary especially for hard-drive players which are usually more fragile.
7. Shop for Prices: Of course, once you have decided on which player you want, don’t forget to shop for prices, both online and offline. There are a lot of great deals available on the net. When you shop online, don’t forget to add the shipping charges to the cost of the product. This will help you decide where your savings are greater.
I hope the above mentioned points help you find the right MP3 player that suits your needs and gives you many happy hours of listening to your favorite music.

The MP3 is a complete godsend for anyone who enjoys and appreciates good music. Not only does it afford users the convenience of purchasing music online and ripping from purchased CDs, it also provides the utmost ease in portability. There are more MP3 players on the market than I can name. These players allow you to download hundreds and in some cases thousands of MP3’s to take along with you anywhere. I create MP3 CD’s containing up to 120 of my favorite songs for my listening pleasure in my car. But how can so many audio files get stored on my 800MB (Megabyte) CD?
MP3 Encoders and MP3 converters are the software that creates MP3s by using an MP3 compression and decompression algorithm. For example, an average 3 minute WAV file can be as large as 15MB. Using MP3 encoders and MP3 converters, a large WAV file can be cut down to a much smaller and more portable MP3 file of about 3MB.
MP3 stands for MPEG Audio Layer 3. At layer 3, psychoacoustics principles are used to find and remove all unnecessary sound data, leaving behind only the crucial audio data. By unnecessary sound data I mean all of the stuff that we humans don’t hear anyway. Most people can’t hear sounds above 16 kHz so why would you want it hogging your disk or hard drive space? Non-music audio such as speeches, sermons, audio books and comedy albums, can be reduced even less based on this.
Compression occurs after the essential data has been separated from the redundant data. At this stage, the same amount of data can be stored using fewer bits and less space. The bit rate is the ratio of the number of bits transferred between two devices per second. The higher the bit rate, the higher the sound quality. The lower the bit rate ratio, the lower the sound quality. 192 Kb/s is the most popular bit rate used in peer-to-peer networks. For the most part, MP3 converters and encoders today use variable bit rates. This allows for much better quality audio because the bit rate conforms to the dynamics of the audio frames being stored which in turn keeps more of the important music data.
There are dozens of MP3 compressor and encoder software programs available online and at stores. Some of the main encoding engines are: LAME, Blade Enc, Fraunhofer Encoders and Xing. Deciding which MP3 encoding engine technology is right for you depends on your individual needs and preferences. Blaze Media Pro is an excellent option if you're looking for a powerful, yet easy to use, all-in-one multimedia solution.

When I first started studying the history of music, I did not know what I was getting into. I had a notion that music history was somewhat of a trivial pursuit...
Honestly, I only followed my history of classical music course because I needed the credits. I am sure some of you out there can relate to that. I did not know how fully interesting music history could be. You see, in our culture many of us do not really study to comprehend music. For much of the world, music is a language, but for us it is a thing that we consumed passively.
When I started to study about the history of Western music, however, it changed all that for me. I have had some experience using musical instruments, but I have never mastered one enough to really comprehend what music is all about. This class showed me.
When a lot of us think about the history of music, it means the history of rock music. We presume that the history is plain because the music is plain. In fact, neither is the case. The history of music, whether you're talking about classical music, rock music, jazz music, or any other kind, is always complex. New chord structures are set up carrying with them new forms of understanding humanity. New rhythmic patterns are established, carrying with them new methods of understanding history. And music shows all of it.
History of music nowadays is even more interesting. Even when the class was ended, I could not stop learning about the history of music. It had stimulated my appetite, and I wanted more. I acquired all the music history volumes that I could discover. I even started to examine forms of music that had not interested me before in the hopes of improving my musical knowledge further. When I was in school studying toward a very different subject - a degree in engineering - I had thought about giving it up and going back to obtain a degree in musicology. That is how much I am fascinated by the subject.
If you have never taken a course in the history of music, you don't know what you are missing out on. You do not miss what you don't know about in a way but then again... Believe me the CDs will never sound the same to you again. Actually not only the Cds but any type of media you are or will be using to play your favorite music. The whole thing will seem much more rich, much more luminous, and much more important. A new song can reflect a new way of being, and a new way of imagining existence in the world. This is what learning about the history of music means to many of us. Just try it and you will see.
Listening to music now has a whole new meaning. You can imagine all the different types of musical patterns there are in the world. It make your musical mind really expand.

Not so very long ago most of us who are old enough to remember probably had a collection of vinyl albums that reflected our wide taste in music. Such technology was all we knew and, with the help of a record player, we could enjoy our songs without having to wait for them to come on the radio. Today, technology is so different that it barely resembles its former self. Music lovers of today carry around portable devices that store all of their favorite songs in a piece of equipment that is barely larger than our thumbs. The MP3 music player technology initially appeared in the mid-1980s but we would not see the player in its present state until the late 1990s – 1999 to be exact. But when it made its appearance it would change the world of music forever.
The MP3 music player utilizes media formatting technology to convert existing audio files to the MP3 format. The MP3 format consists of compressed audio files; audio that has been compressed into very small files that can fit into the MP3 music player. And it achieves this compression without sacrificing the audio’s sound quality. In some instances, depending on capacity of the particular MP3 music player, users can fit thousands of songs within its confines. Better still, because of its size the MP3 music player is a portable unit that can fit in handbags and coat pockets. Users have access to their favorite songs no matter where they are and what they are doing. And as their taste in music changes or expands they simply add additional songs to their MP3 music player collection.
The MP3 music player is able to capture audio files through the use of the computer. The most popular variation of the MP3 music player – the iPod – made linking to the computer simple and convenient for users. So much so that most MP3 music players that are sold today are done so because of their compatibility to Apple software – the company that manufacturers iPod.
On the computer, users can either upload their favorite CDs that can then be downloaded onto the MP3 music player; or they can purchase songs online and then download them to the unit. Apple’s iTunes is the most commonly used musical resource for purchasing and downloading songs.
But aside from the convenience in downloading, the MP3 music player is universally revered for its portability. It can be plugged into your vehicle and played through your car’s audio system, plugged into headphones and played while you exercise, or plugged into portable speakers and played throughout your home. In any case, the MP3 music player is the most comprehensive piece of equipment available on the market today to play music.

Throughout the past several years, nearly everyone has become familiar with the music industry closing in on music-sharing websites that permit visitors to download music at no cost. Both company executives and artists believe that this practice is damaging the financial prospect of the industry as a whole. Why is that? Because individuals were gaining access to music files for free instead of purchasing the compact disc release, which resulted in a loss of revenue. The outcome was various lawsuits being filed against individuals, themselves, and the companies who provided the free access.
Since that time, however, new businesses have emerged that are designed to provide customers with a paid service to download music tunes. This advance appears to be working as the music industry’s revenue is continuing to stream in, as fans are enjoying quality music at a low monthly subscription rate. This option works especially well for anyone who has a favorite song, but doesn’t wish to purchase the entire CD for just that one song. Even with fee-based services, there are some restrictions that do apply and consumers must be cautious as to not violate existing copyright laws.
Not many websites continue to offer free file-sharing services in light of the recent lawsuits brought against their competitors, but they do still exist. Along with concerns surrounding their legality, these companies often lack in the premium sound quality that professional recordings offer. One interesting way to download music, freely and legally, is to visit a specific artist’s official website. During their earliest release, some musicians allow fans the opportunity to download music featuring the entire track of a new song. The purpose of this is to entice them into purchasing the entire CD by gaining their interest with one track. Because this usually relates to a new song promotion, these offers are usually limited and may expire fairly quickly.
The most common ways to download music is onto a computer or an MP3 player. Most computers feature software that will allow them to easily record a song for storage or playback. Once downloaded, consumers are not permitted to make additional copies and/or profit from this activity in any way. The download is for personal use only and cannot be redistributed or sold.
When you download music onto an MP3 player, a USB connection is generally required between your computer and the player. Before transferring music files, it is best to make sure that your MP3 player has the capability to support the song’s file format. All MP3 players can playback an .mp3 format, but many can also read .wma files.

Downloading free music has become increasingly more difficult since the demise of Napster, Ares, Kazaa and other downloading websites, which are not only illegal but load your computer with viruses. Apple's popular program iTunes is a legal and easy way to download music, but it costs 99 cents per song. The lack of options leaves many music lovers searching for something better.
These and other concerns were on the mind of music lover, engineer and alum of the Forestry School at Syracuse University Andrew Lombardo (brother of Phil Lombardo '05), when he began researching ways to create a downloading website that would benefit not just downloaders, but musicians and advertisers as well. After several years of research and hard work, his final product, Zaziggy.com, is available for public use.
Zaziggy.com is a different kind of music downloading website. With his self-run company, Rockstar Technologies, and his partner Shirley Ma (a patent attorney) Lombardo has created a partnership between advertisers, downloaders and up-and-coming artists. The artists range in genre from acoustic, acoustic rock, country, emo, hip hop, metal, piano, piano acoustic, pop, rap, rock, surf and surf acoustic, to appeal to all sorts of music interests.
To sign up, you simply have to go to Zaziggy.com and fill out a brief survey, whose purpose is to pair your interests up with an advertiser. The survey, which is worlds more fun than the average demographics survey, allows users to get their music for free. Here's how Zaziggy works: while downloading a song a user is paired up with an advertisement for a product based on his or her interests, which are determined based on the survey. This allows companies to target their advertisements to their desired demographic. Additionally, artists receive a royalty each time someone downloads one of their songs and they are able to access the demographics of the people who like their music.
According to the website, "the money made off of the sponsored download is split 50/50 with the artists," who maintain artistic control because Rockstar Technologies does not buy the rights to the songs. Because they make money off of the downloads, this website makes it possible for musicians to benefit from a music downloading website. And the downloads are perfectly legal. The best part is that each week new artists will be added to the website, so users can always anticipate something new. This way, Zaziggy.com provides a way for savvy people to discover new music without having to listen to the radio.
The website, which features clever graphics and just the right amount of humor, is easy and fun to use. Zaziggy.com indicates the top downloads in each genre, and recommends artists that you may like. Different artists are featured at the top of the page, along with a short biography.
If you are interested in music in any way, this website is worth looking into. For more information, check out rockstartechnologies.com/bands/. You can find out more fun facts about Zaziggy.com, as well as enjoy some great animation. Or, if you are an artist or an advertiser who is interested in becoming a part of Zaziggy.com, this link has all the information you need to get involved: rockstartechnologies.com/help. Included on the page are ways to help spread the word about this innovative new website. Lombardo is always looking for more artists and advertisers to become part of the project, as the partnership is beneficial to everyone involved. Zaziggy.com may just be the best thing so far to happen to music-lovers!

What Is Country Music Anyway?

What Is Country Music Anyway?

When many people think of country music, they think of sad songs about lost loves, broken down trucks and runaway dogs. In their minds, they are hearing all of these woes sung in the traditional twangy country accents of the south. However, these perceptions of country music are far from where this style of music has evolved. Today, country music is one of the most popular genres of music, normally outsold only by rock and pop genres.
Created in the late 19th century, country music has under gone many changes over the years. There are now many sub-genres to this type of music, with some of the sub-genres being commonly played on top 40 radio stations.
To understand country music, it is helpful to know about the instruments commonly associated with it. In country music, one of the most common instruments used is the fiddle (or violin). Some of these instruments can be expensive, but most are relatively inexpensive and are very easily transports since they tare light in weight and not overly large. When country music first ‘hit the scene’, the fiddle was practically the only instrument used as accompaniment. However, as the country music style became more popular, the addition of other accompanying instruments became normal. The banjo became popular in some country music pieces in the mid 1800s, while the guitar did not break into the country music scene until the early 1900s. Electric guitars did not become a regular instrument in country music until much later in the 50s. Other various instruments used in country music are the piano (introduced in the 1930s) and the drums (used since the 1960s). Rarely used, but distinctive sounding instruments are used in certain country songs: the accordion, the harmonica, and the washboards.
Country music has roots in several different styles of music. Its beginnings started with the settlers that came from Europe. During that time, many couldn’t read or write, so songs were created to pass history down from one generation to the next. Although country ballads have changed a great deal, going from the original songs about objective, though gruesome, events to more personal, subjective ballads without all the gore.
Today, the sound of country music can sometimes be very similar to other genres of pop and rock. Some country musicians, like Shania Twain, have many songs playing on stations that aren’t considered “country”. There are also musicians, like Sheryl Crow, who are considered pop/rock, but have songs popular on country stations.

Rap Is More Than Music

This is a style that stays aside all the other music trends. Not aside, but somewhat deeper. The reason is it is a reflection of the race, the plurality of people united by roots and origin. Rap is the culture of Afro-Americans, the continuation of their language and traditions. Rap is a mixture of speech and music, actually it is speech laid on music or beat it’s better to say. And when we claim that people are united through music, meaning every single human being on this planet, rap unites the ones close to blood by music and then everybody else, either welcoming or being hostile to a newcomer. What attracts people in rap? Is it catchy? Maybe. Those non-natives to rap often state the flow of speech is too quick and it is difficult to differentiate the words. Sometimes it seems rap music is only for those from the cradle. Foreigners are not invited.
Rap is classified as urban poetry of lyrical resistance. Thus it is not the music for village like country music. It is the gathering power of those united by music in big cities. The aim is to resist the grieves because misfortunes are more dramatic and numerous in urban areas.
Rap does not only speak to the mind and emotions, but speaks to the society all around people, for people. If the words or courage to say those words are not there, the subconscious takes over and the Rap lyrics kick in.
But once captured by the beat, most people - mainly younger ones - begin to hear the words, and the words may describe just how they are feeling that day. If the boss came to work with an agenda to screw everyone, some people will "feel" the words and the beat, especially when enclosed in a car doing 70 on the freeway. It’s something about riding with the music turned full-blast that has a way of absorbing the mind and supplying a means of temporal escape.
Some songs have innocent words that impress upon the mind to be released later at the water cooler. Some choruses are catchy and when sung by certain artist will stay within the subconscious long after. Various rappers have unique voices that some people find attractive or along the same vocal tone as their own voice, which it makes it easier to sing along.
First goes the beat, and then goes the lyrics! It is not as smooth and tender as classical music, not as glossy as pop, but it has the scream of pain of real emotion of the world’s harshness. One may even state that rap is the most pain expressing music style. Those who sing it or it is better to say read it revive their feelings not only concerning love, as most of the other styles do. Their message is about life and the problems, especially the ones of the Afro-American people. The music of pain and oppression, rap is a remedy to the latter. Let all the pills be like that!

If you listen to today's music on the radio, you will hear a wide variety of songs and beats. You even nowadays hear people singing over hip hop beats, and people rapping over r&b beats! The two genres are blending a lot in today's music. One of the mistakes that many underground rap artists make is, they are so concerned about being what they call "real" as in being gangsta or hard.
It seems like they are more concerned about being "real" then they are about selling records and making money. So they use only beats that are hard and "gangsta" sounding. They talk about shooting and killing over these hard rap beats. It's ok for them to do this if this is what they want, but every song on the album can't be that way if they want to be a successful multi-platinum selling artist. If you want to get your music on the radio, and on BET or MTV, you have to have at least a few singles, that are more commercial.
A lot of artists don't do this, and they miss out on a whole entire market of possible customers! The goal is to capture the attention of these people through mass media such as the radio and tv, so that they will purchase the album. Once they buy the album, they will then have access to the rest of your different styles.
Keep This in Mind:
People in the streets will burn your CD! Listeners from the Radio and T.V. will buy your CD! Which one do you think will get you to Platinum Status Faster? My artists are going to sell 200,000+ CD's this year! How about you?
So the point is, if your goal is to capture as many sells as you can, then you have to make music that everybody can listen to. You can't make music only for the streets. You have to make it for the streets, the club, the radio/tv, and for the car. That way, you can receive sells and money from all of those different markets, instead of just from the streets. Today's hit music has one thing in common: No matter how stupid it may sound, it is catchy. Don't believe me? Listen to Laffy Taffy! It may get horrible ratings from a lot of Hip-Hop Heads, but the girls love it, and it sticks with you. Think about it: How many times have you talked about it with someone since the song came out? How many times have you listened to it when it came on the radio just to see how stupid it was?

MP3/Music Downloading Guide
